Two members of the company have joined Together for Cinema, a charity scheme that sees the AV industry come together to design and install home cinemas in hospices across the UK.
Together for Cinema was founded in 2009 by Ian Morrish, and has so far, completed 25 projects. Wanting to continue this progress, Ian has expanded the team to include Jeff Hayward and Shereen Russell from Wildwood, alongside Wendy Griffiths from trade body, CEDIA and Melanie Malcolm from Leeds-based integration firm, Bespoke Home Cinemas.
“I’m determined to take Together for Cinema forward to achieve the next 25 installations, but I recognise that it’s grown to be much more than a one-person job,” says Ian Morrish. “In different ways, Jeff, Shereen, Wendy and Melanie have all supported Together for Cinema up to this point and they’ll now be joining me more formally on the Together for Cinema team to help with finding, organising and marketing the next series of projects. They’re well-respected and have great connections and skills that will help us keep the momentum going and enrich many more lives in the future.”
“Together for Cinema is a fantastic industry initiative,” comments Jeff Hayward. “We’ve always given it our backing but will now be extending that support from PR and marketing to include extra organisational, administrative and communications activity, as well as promotion on our podcast series, The Integrated Home as official members of the Together for Cinema team. We are actively look for new hospices to work with that would like to have a cinema room installed, as well as integrators to carry out the work and brands who are willing to donate products. With Ian completing the first 25 projects, we are energised to move forward and get another 25 projects lined up as soon as we can.”
The new team has already started planning the next batch of installs. The 26th project due to begin at the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in Huddersfield in 2021.
